Sylvia Yong is an associate with KPMG Law LLP, based out of the firm’s Toronto office.
Sylvia currently maintains a practice focusing on both employment-based and family-based immigration matters, and provides business immigration counselling to corporate clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to emerging businesses. Having been admitted to both the Ontario and the New York State bars, she is also uniquely situated to provide strategic advice on U.S.-Canada cross-border issues. As a lawyer, Sylvia’s goal is to partner with her clients to ensure efficient operation of her clients’ global mobility program, while maintaining compliance with applicable U.S. and Canadian immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
An active member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and the Ontario Bar Association (OBA), Sylvia currently serves as the Secretary of the CBA Young Lawyers Section, the Past-Chair of the OBA Young Lawyers Section, and a Member of OBA Council. She is also active with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), where she serves as the Advocacy and Litigation Liaison, and the New Members Liaison for the AILA Canada Chapter.
