Jeffrey is a Partner in McMillan LLP’s Advocacy and Litigation Group. He specializes in legal strategic planning and the resolution of commercial disputes, focussing on issues of corporate governance or concerning an insolvency or corporate restructuring. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and at the Supreme Court of Canada as counsel to an intervener in a precedent-setting case on auditor liability. He regularly argues cases before judges of the Toronto Commercial List. He has extensive court and arbitration trial experience, cross-border restructuring expertise and was recognized by Global Restructuring Review as top “40 Under 40” world’s leading restructuring specialists for 2016. Jeffrey Chaired the Ontario Bar Association Insolvency Section Executive for the term ending in 2019 and writes extensively for the firm’s Restructuring and Insolvency Bulletin highlighting the impact of recent jurisprudence of interest to the restructuring-professional community. He participates annually at the Advocates’ Society Mentoring Dinner as a mentor to junior litigators. Frequently, Jeffrey volunteers at Pro Bono Ontario’s Courthouse program serving self-represented litigants and Hotline offering legal advice by phone to low-income Ontarians across the province.
